“The murder of Prigozhin was entrusted to the FSB,” Zelenskyj complains about delays in the training of pilots on US fighter jets

After the uprising of the Wagner mercenary group, the Russian secret service FSB is said to have been ordered to kill Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozchin. This is reported by the Ukrainian military intelligence service HUR, citing an interview of chief Kyrylo Budanov with the medium “The War Zone”. There is no statement from the Russian side. The information cannot be independently verified.

“We know that the FSB was charged with Prigozhin’s murder,” Budanov said in the interview. But only time will tell if the FSB can successfully kill Prigozhin. “They will need some time to develop appropriate approaches and reach a stage where they are ready for a large-scale operation,” Budanov explained. Whether the FSB actually carried out the order cannot be said.

The Wagner Group, led by Yevgeny Prigozhin, took control of several military bases in southern Russia last Friday and Saturday. Prigozhin announced a march on Moscow. After mediation by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Prigozhin finally broke off the uprising on Saturday evening.

Russian President Vladimir Putin had previously called Prigozhin a “traitor” but released him into exile in Belarus. He also gave his Wagner mercenaries involved in the uprising the choice to go to their families or to Belarus – or to join the Russian army. Several tents have now been spotted near the Belarusian capital Minsk, which indicate the arrival of the Wagner group. Experts assume that Putin will not forgive Prigozhin.
