The influencers should promote a new type of chocolate at the event. Instead of the 300 expected guests, about 1,200 fans showed up at the supermarket.

Two hours before the start of the event, according to the federal police, 400 fans were already waiting in the store and in the waiting room of the neighboring train station – including children who had been pushed against the wall in the crowd. “By means of loudspeaker announcements, the participants of the event were to be reminded of peace and order.”

In a YouTube video posted after the event, “Abugoku9999” said of the rush, “That’s mentally ill.” The police had to clear the event after half an hour.

After that, the visitors moved on towards the city center. The influencers also left after the eviction, according to the newspaper.

Mass brawls at fan gatherings

Fan meetings have also gotten out of hand in Switzerland. In January 2020, a Tiktok meet-and-greet of two German internet stars at the Glatt center in Wallisellen ZH triggered a state of emergency. Because thousands of fans showed up and other influencers were there, a big scuffle ensued. Here, too, children were knocked over and hit by a car. The Glatt center later stated that it was unaware of the scheduled meeting.
