Three reasons why Putin is not giving up yet: Putin is counting on Donald Trump to be re-elected

Although Kremlin boss Vladimir Putin has not yet achieved success in the Ukraine war, he continues the war against Ukraine.

Since Ukraine launched its counter-offensive against Russia, the certainty of Vladimir Putin’s (70) victory seems to be slowly but surely disappearing. However, the Kremlin boss does not want to give up his failed war. What is all this for?

Two opponents of Putin would have the answer to this. Evgenia Kara-Mursa (42), wife of Russian opposition leader Vladimir Kara-Mursa (41), and human rights activist Bill Browder (59) are sure: Putin still has hope. This was reported by the “image”.

“The noose of sanctions is getting tighter.”Bill Browder, human rights activist

As Browder explains, things are not going well for the Russian state or individuals right now. In order not to be subject to sanctions itself, even China has turned its back on Russia. The Bank of China has begun restricting transactions from Russian banking customers. According to Browder, India is behaving in a similar way: “The noose of sanctions is tightening.”

But Putin still doesn’t want to let go. Because: The Kremlin boss has a glimmer of hope: “Putin’s strategy is: hold on until November 2024. Then he hopes for an election victory from Trump or to a lesser extent from DeSantis, who he believes will stop supporting Ukraine and lift sanctions against Russia .”

If Donald Trump is re-elected as president of the United States, it could have serious consequences for Ukraine. Especially if there were a deal where the Kremlin boss would keep parts of Ukraine. Ukraine is fighting against the clock. At best, it should force the Russians to withdraw before the US presidential election.

Hardly still in contact with the outside world

Bill Browder and Wladimir Kara-Mursa have long tried to enable targeted sanctions against individuals – without success. The Russian regime reacted immediately: the device twice tried to kill Kara-Mursa with poison – but he survived. Since then he has been held hostage in Putin’s prison.

Wife of Kara-Mursa: “Since my husband was sentenced to a maximum sentence of 25 years in a camp on April 22, my life has been a nightmare.” Only after a year was he allowed to call his children. However, the messages of support that reach him from all over the world are no longer given to him.

And: the Russian opposition figure suffers from a serious nervous disease – but he still has to stay in prison. (lia)
