Zelensky, however, admits that the Ukrainian counter-offensive is progressing “slower than desired”

Russia it lost, in 16 months of war, more than 4,000 tanks, which is the equivalent of between 120 and 130 battalions, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense reported today. “Between 120 and 130 tank battalions of the Russian invaders were destroyed by the Defense Forces Ukraine in 16 months from the great war. Since the beginning of the great aggression, Russia has already lost more than 4,000 tanks,” he says on Telegram. The message also emphasizes that “every destroyed enemy tank is a step towards our victory”.

According to the latest data from the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, since the beginning of the war of aggression against Ukraine, Russian losses amount to 222,000 soldiers.

The report added that Ukrainian forces had succeeded destroy 4600 tanks -9 in the last 24 hours-, 7771 armored combat vehicles -21 in the past day-, 3920 artillery systems and 615 multiple rocket launchers. However, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, admitted that the counter-offensive launched in the eastern parts of the country against Russian positions is progressing.slower than desired“, warning that caution is needed because “lives are at stake”, and about 200,000 square kilometers of land are riddled with mines.

“Some people think this is a Hollywood movie and expect immediate results,” Zelensky said in an interview with the BBC, after Ukrainian authorities reported in recent days that they had captured several towns in the Donetsk and Zaporozhye regions, two of the main battlefronts.

Thus, “with due respect”, he requested that the rates set from Kiev be taken into account: “We will advance on the battlefield in the way we consider best.” However, he made it clear that for now there will be no negotiations with Russia and that he is not willing to reach a “frozen conflict” between the two sides, which implies the continuation of the fight until the final victory.

Regarding the transfer of Russian tactical nuclear weapons to Belarus, Zelensky pointed out that he does not see his colleague Vladimir Putin “ready” to press the button, “because he is afraid for his life.” He also does not rule out that he fulfills his threats at a given moment and resorts to this weapon, considering that “the person is far from reality” and that he has already “started a big war against his neighbor”.

Zelensky also thanked the international community for supporting Putin’s statements such as those calling him “a shame for the Jewish people.” I don’t think he quite understands his words. It’s like he was the second king of anti-Semitism after Hitler,” added the Ukrainian president, who questioned that a theoretically “civilized” president could speak in the terms used by Putin.
