Top Russian diplomat claims Ukraine pays for military aid with human organs

Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, accuses Ukraine of organized trafficking in the organs of soldiers killed at the front. She speaks of an “extremely profitable company” that also finances Kiev’s war machine.

Another chapter in the propaganda war between Moscow and Kiev. Ukraine is willing to exchange organs of soldiers killed at the front for Western military aid. That is what Marija Zakharova (47), spokeswoman for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said on the edge of an economic forum in St. Petersburg. According to the diplomat, the Kiev regime is becoming a global hub for organ trafficking.

“The Kiev regime is ready to pay anything for the military support it receives,” Zakharova told Russia’s state news agency TASS. “It has even penetrated the human organs of its citizens.”

According to Zakharova, Western countries are the main beneficiaries of alleged transplant practices in Ukraine. The system had already been tested in former Yugoslavia. “All the organs taken from the people who were killed at the time were for the needs of Western countries.”

«Approved at the highest level»

The same is happening now in Ukraine. According to Zakharova, the trade in illegal operations is booming because Ukrainian forces are suffering heavy losses at the front.

“After proper surgical procedures, the bodies are cremated and the next of kin are told that the soldier is simply missing. These terrible machinations would not be possible without the approval of the Kiev regime at the highest level,” the diplomat said.

Ukraine had already done a lot in advance to simplify transplant operations. On December 16, 2021, law 5831 was passed that regulates the transplantation of human anatomical material. According to this law, notarial consent from the living donor or his relatives is no longer required for a transplant.

Alleged tax benefits

According to Zakharova, the procedure for taking organs from the deceased has also been considerably simplified, even if they had not given permission to donate their organs before their death. “Not only the state, but also private clinics have been given the right to perform transplants,” continued the top Russian diplomat.

In addition, on April 4, 2022, the Ukrainian Parliament passed Law 5610 amending the Tax Code. Organ transplants are exempt from VAT.

Zakharova had already made similar allegations in May this year without citing concrete evidence. According to her, illegal organ removal in Ukraine is an “accepted and proven fact”. Zakharova described human organ trafficking as a “big business in armed conflict zones that is extremely profitable for those who do it”. (kes)
