“They want to take my freedom from me, because I will never let them take your freedom,” Trump said Tuesday night (local time) to cheers from his supporters at his golf resort in Bedminster, New Jersey. “They want to shut me up because I will never let them shut you up.”

Trump fired up at his supporters, saying again, “You know they’re not after me. They’re after you and I happen to be in their way.” He will never budge, said the Republican presidential candidate.
In view of the date of the next presidential election, he proclaimed: “Justice will be served on November 5, 2024.”
Trump again denounced US President Joe Biden as “corrupt” and accused the incumbent Democratic Party of wanting to eliminate him as a political competitor and destroy American democracy “along with a gang of criminals and Marxists.”
The Republican again accused the special investigator in the affair of Trump’s handling of classified government documents, Jack Smith, as “insane” and “criminal”. Trump said if reelected he would appoint special counsel to deal with Biden and his “criminal family”.
Trump was the first former US president to appear in federal court on Tuesday to face charges. He had to appear in person in court in Miami, where the allegations in the affair of secret government documents were officially opened to him. As expected, Trump pleaded not guilty.
He is accused, among other things, of illegally storing highly sensitive government information from his tenure. The Federal Police FBI had searched Trump’s Mar-a-Lago private residence in Florida in August and seized numerous classified documents, some of them at the highest level of classification. (sda/dpa)
