Rammstein in Munich: “smack” and “evil looks” – that’s what concertgoers say. There is more evidence: the next indictment against Trump may be imminent

Jennifer Ullrich / watson.de

On June 7, Rammstein traveled to Germany for the first time as part of their current European tour. In Munich they play four shows before also stopping in Berlin in July. However, the band is currently facing allegations. In a statement she then said:

“We condemn any form of abuse.”

It further reads: “Do not participate in public prejudice of any kind against those who have made allegations. You are entitled to your opinion. But we, the band, also have a right – namely not to be biased either.”

What do you notice about the accusations about the mood of the visitors at the first show in Munich? Already in the early evening there was a clash in front of the Olympic Stadium between demonstrators who showed solidarity with victims of sexual violence and fans of the band. The demonstrators were equipped with banners and megaphones. Insults were poured out from both sides.

Subsequently, the fans in the stadium began a one-minute La Ola wave before Till Lindemann and his colleagues took the stage. But there are also people who no longer have a good feeling when visiting a concert.

Watson addressed several visitors in front of the stadium on Wednesday. Different opinions emerged.

Rammstein: Fans sell stadium tickets

Shortly before the rockers’ performances in Munich, there were suddenly a striking number of Rammstein tickets for sale again at Eventim Fansale. In the weeks leading up to this, it had been virtually impossible to obtain a card legally.

The resale procedure is further complicated by the fact that the cards are personalised. An ID must be presented upon entry and the name must match the one on the ticket. If not, access may be denied.

Nevertheless: A few hours before the concert starts, a few fans try to get rid of their tickets at the last minute, right in front of the stadium. Eventim even points out that “in exceptional cases” “re-personalization is also possible on site on the day of the show”.

Camp formation among Rammstein fans

“Mainly because of the allegations,” explains a female fan who does not want to be named, the decision to sell the stadium ticket. When in doubt, the young woman would also exchange her ticket, because she has a seat, while her friends will soon be inland.

If necessary, she would also give up the ticket for less money than the original purchase price, she clarifies. When Watson addresses her, she has already been trying her luck for half an hour.

Maria from Munich, on the other hand, who says she has been a Rammstein fan for years, is already successful after 20 minutes. She could put down a card. Her husband fell ill shortly, she not only wants to go to the show – but the allegations against the band also play a big role for her, she says.

Like the other woman, she holds up a sign to draw attention to her offer. In return, she gets meaningful responses from passing fans, she tells Watson. Your conclusion:

“Evil looks mainly come from other women.”

Before that, she started a discussion on the subject on the bus and encountered huge headwinds – there are still many fans behind the band and Lindemann, she notes. “That was a mistake,” she judges afterwards about her action to start a conversation.

In any case, she could “no longer fully enjoy a concert by Rammstein”. So she wants to give her cards to someone who is different. If necessary, Maria is prepared to sell her ticket for “much less” than the normal purchase price. Just under three hours before the show started, she was able to resell the first ticket for the original price to an elderly gentleman who was very happy.

Rammstein concert has “aftertaste”

Of course there are also fans who have reserved but still come to the concert. A couple approached by Watson comes from Frankfurt and emphasizes that the trip and the hotel have long been fully booked. Now you want to take the show – but there is a “smack”.

Another woman, who does not wish to be named, says, “Nothing has been proven.” For them there is nothing against going to the concert.

Other fans, on the other hand, do not want to talk about the topic at all and immediately soften it with clear words – including two women who are just queuing at the merchandise stand, for which quite a queue has formed.
