Due to drug past: Foundation questions US visa Prince Harry Pope Francis returned to hospital

Prince Harry is facing legal trouble in the United States. A foundation has questioned whether he obtained his visa lawfully and whether he made truthful statements about drug use.

Legal wrangling over Prince Harry’s US visa application: A right-wing US foundation has questioned whether US immigration authorities correctly approved Prince Harry’s entry application – and whether the 38-year-old provided truthful information there.

Reason: Harry has publicly admitted to taking drugs in the past. The case was heard in Washington on Tuesday. Son of King Charles III has been living in the US for several years with his wife Duchess Meghan.

Earlier, the Heritage Foundation had asked the Department of Homeland Security to grant access to Prince Harry’s Freedom of Information Act visa application. She argues that the drug admission could be a reason to refuse the visa. Harry had written about drug experiences in his memoir entitled “Spare” (German: “Reserve”).

The foundation now wants to check whether Prince Harry has provided information about drug use in his visa application. The Ministry had not complied with the request, pointing out that Harry had not authorized the publication of the documents.

At Tuesday’s hearing in Washington, no decision has yet been made in the case. The judge gave the Department of Homeland Security until Tuesday to decide how to proceed, US broadcaster CNN reported. Prince Harry himself is not part of the process between the foundation and the US Department and was therefore not present. He testified on Tuesday in an espionage trial against the Mirror publishing house in London. (sda/dpa)
