We clarify the most important questions from the world of dinosaurs (spoiler: they’re all dead)

Sergio Mining

Somehow we know so much about dinosaurs and yet so little. It’s half a knowledge we’ve gathered over the years from TV, books and the internet.

Scientifically, we have therefore set ourselves the goal of clarifying the most important questions from the dinosaur world once and for all. One should know the animals from which we ultimately descend. Or something …

We know of the Pterodactylus, Pete for short, that – unlike today’s flying animals – it did not fly to the south, but to the cold north. Because of their Latino roots, the dilophosaurs were particularly enthusiastic about Mexican cuisine. However, depending on the dish, it was quite difficult to get the food to the workplace. To this day, it’s unclear how they got their taco intact to the construction site.

Long necks were considered the laziest animals of the Mesozoic Era. They were so lazy that they grew extremely long necks so they didn’t have to actively reach for their food. In addition, they took the car for the shortest distances instead of walking.

The Mononykus, the Heidi Klum of the dinosaur world, so to speak: old but fashionable. But as fashion sometimes entails, if you took too much risk you quickly shot through the target (we’re back to Heidi🤷‍♂️ ). But not our mono, right?

We all know it when buying clothes: unfortunately our proportions sometimes do not match those of the clothes. Either the collar is too wide, but too narrow around the shoulders, or the sleeves are too short, so too wide around the hips – or vice versa. Imagine what that must have been like for a T-Rex. No wonder he decided to die out…

Veganism was still a foreign word a few centuries ago, even for the plesiosaur. Of course, with all that endless meat consumption, you also want to brush your teeth. Because even if you’re in the water all the time, they don’t clean themselves.

Triceratops, or Big T, represented his generation on the street. Fashionable, cheeky, tough boy image. It is not for nothing that it is still said today: you can take a Triceratops off the street, but never take a Triceratops off the street. Props go out!

You can’t mention Parasaurolophus without also mentioning psoriasis. We all know that the para suffered from extreme itching. However, what we can’t say with 100% certainty is what he did about it.

Climate change has been a problem for a long time and Stegosaurus knew it too. To save our planet, he decided to pioneer in the field of photovoltaic energy. Since this was still very unknown at the time, he had it insured against all possible damage such as floods or earthquakes. Unfortunately, he forgot the insurance against the Big Bang…
