Increase the subway: how much it will cost from March

The new subway fare will come into effect on March 7 and corresponds to the first of four increases planned for 2023.

From March 7ticket subway it will cost $58, implying an increase of 65%. The measure was published in the Official Gazette, and they published it Subways of Buenos Aires SE (database).

It is confirmed that there will be more in this line rate updates. Each ticket will cost $67 in May and $74 in June. Finally, it will reach $80 in September.

“The change in the price list was discussed and approved at the public hearing held on February 3, with the aim of continuing the guarantee of maintenance and proper functioning of the service”, explained the company.

“In addition to seeking balance between tickets for different means of transport, the update responds to the variation of the technical rate, which reflects the cost of providing the service and consists of the ratio between the stated costs and the number of paid passengers,” they concluded.

The variation coincides with the increase determined by the Government for the remainder public transport AMBA-e, where the low dropped from $25.20 to $35.
