Research shows: men with small penises prefer fancy cars

Since the Internet has become an integral part of most people’s daily lives, it has become indispensable. They’re on Instagram, they’re on Facebook and on YouTube and also on Tiktok. They are especially common on dating apps: We’re talking about guys posing in cool poses in front of their cars. Sports cars are especially popular among these copies. The more expensive and faster, the better. A status symbol intended to underline masculinity.

Is that going well? Most women would probably be put off by this. As well as shirtless mirror selfies. There’s one cliché that’s particularly stubborn when it comes to big cars: men with small penises tend to want expensive sleds. The chubby the car, the smaller the penis – many people are convinced of this.

Now it turns out that the cliché is true. At least according to the findings of a recent study.

So far it has not been possible to prove this claim. After all, men don’t like to talk honestly about the size of their best piece. Especially not with absolute honesty. Researchers at University College London set themselves the task of getting to the bottom of the thesis with a trick. They published their results in a study entitled “Small Penises and Fast Cars”.

Previous studies had already shown that men with lower self-esteem tend to crave luxury goods. The mere thought of owning a luxury car can boost men’s hurt self-esteem, the assumption goes.

To get to the bottom of the truth about the penis once and for all, the researchers used a proven deception: The subjects were misled about the purpose of the study. They thought it was a study of how well people remember facts while shopping. In reality, it was all about their penis size and the sports car issue.

The team led by Daniel C. Richardson of University College London presented alleged facts to 200 men aged between 18 and 74. The highlight: they divided the men into two research groups. Among other things, one of them explained the alleged fact that the average length of a penis is 18 centimeters. The researchers gave the men of the second group an average value of ten centimetres.

Both pieces of information are incorrect: Max Mustermann’s penises are 13.12 inches long when erect. Consequently, it is likely that the men in the first group rated their penises as relatively small. A blow to the self-confidence of the participants.

Then all the men had to rate photos of various luxury items, including sports cars. They were asked to indicate how much they wanted the respective products. What emerged from the subsequent evaluation confirms the persistent cliché: respondents in the first group had a greater desire for sports cars than those in group two.

However, this phenomenon only occurred after a certain age. “From the age of 29, the influence of penis size on sports car desire has grown,” said study leader and psychologist Daniel C. Richardson. The effect was also only related to sports cars, according to the study, but not to other luxury items such as expensive watches.
