Restaurants are having a hard time today. Many restaurants were hit so hard during the corona crisis that they had to close. So the “Rias”, a very good star restaurant in Kloten, had to give way because I don’t know why, because it was really good. A true loss to the local gastro scene, my mother still grieves for the rest.

In the case of other restaurants, I can well understand the financial end, even without a pandemic. If your village pub still has the furniture of the 1970s and the culinary delights of the 1960s, don’t be surprised if the customers walk away from you. It’s supply and demand, honey, and your supply is thin.

And then these pubs also have incredibly creative names. Ooooooh, the unique Wirtshaus Rössli, which is guaranteed to be found nowhere else in Switzerland! Small note: the “Rössli” is the most common inn name in Switzerland. But do you know the others that are also quite popular?
