Do you think you should go see Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? This Swiss shows how difficult it is

After the dramatic finale of the “3 million euro week” last weekend, the quiz craze of “Who wants to be a millionaire?” went on seamlessly on Monday night.

And then there was a somewhat rare event: Günther Jauch finally welcomed another Swiss to the quiz island. Emanuel Sawalt of Frauenfeld makes his way to the front tonight in second. As soon as he sat down, Jauch told him the bad news: “In Switzerland, which is otherwise so tax-efficient, you have to give up a third of your profits!”

Sawalt accepts the challenge anyway. And proves two things: first, it is very, very difficult for a Swiss to pass a German quiz show. And second, the federal government’s TV commercials for water and energy conservation are not going to appeal to everyone.

The 33-year-old opens Jauch to the question of 1000 euros that he take a bath every morning. If necessary, he would get up in the middle of the night. He also likes to drink his coffee or treat himself to a cigarette.

As if the quiz gods wanted to punish him for his lack of awareness, Sawalt’s trial as a Swiss begins with Günther Jauch with the subsequent question of 1000 euros. The question is:

The lawyer, who works at the University of Zurich, gets stuck in the face of the rather German expression. He therefore also asks Jauch: “Is it really stupid that I don’t see it now?” Jauch’s response: “Let’s put it this way: I would knock out anyone who answered this question wrong.” Sawalt quickly realizes his “mistake” and says he has already thought of the lady who played for him: “Actually, I don’t have to go there.”

Contrary to the requirements, the question ends well for the man from Frauenfeld: he guesses the correct answer and does not need a prankster yet.

After the commercial break, which airs the federal government’s water-saving campaign, things continue to be a bit slow for Sawalt. Occasionally he can’t help it, for example with the following question – the answer to which even a majority of the public is wrong.

“I just felt really stupid,” says the 33-year-old, “not anymore!” 51 percent tick “parasite,” 41 “boxer.” Jauch then says, “I didn’t know they came in here with a contagious disease!” But here Sawalt shows his brain and is not fooled by the public. After much deliberation, he takes the correct answer – “Boxer”.

The candidate then quickly baked the remaining pranksters – also thanks to his sister, who did not want to be called, but can very quickly help with this question:

And if that wasn’t enough, Sawalt also hears something from his own sister: «Emanuel! You should watch more TV!” “No, that makes you stupid”, is his answer, which of course does not please Günther Jauch at all.

With the question of 64,000 euros, Sawalt’s odyssey through the German quiz jungle is finally over. Although he eventually held his own, his example shows that you should think twice about exposing yourself as a Swiss to the German questions (and his malice) of Günther Jauch.
