I’ve been cheering for Switzerland for years and now Canada is participating in the World Cup

For eleven years, three European Championships and three World Championships, I applaud the Swiss national team. And now the Canadian men’s team has made it to the World Cup for the first time since 1986. What must we do?

I was totally unprepared to cheer for my own team in this sport. I knew nothing about her.

Watson even has a series of articles citing Canada as our second favorite team. I’ve read them all. Yes, I heard about my home country’s team from Swiss source. I didn’t miss the absurdity.

On Wednesday I saw a game of the Canadian team for the first time ever. How did that happen and why do I consider Xherdan Shaqiri to be a close, personal friend? Here’s the video:
