And which cocktail have you Googled the most in 2023? N/A? Which?

Yeah, yeah – this headline is pretty clickbait. But for number 1, we should really use the eye roll emoji. Oh – cheers, everyone!

“Oh, how does this one cocktail actually work?” Quite a few people wondered that in 2023 – and called Uncle Google to ask. Because what started as a trend a few years ago with the lockdown has now become the norm: Yes, you treat yourself to a mixed drink at home every now and then.

And so amateur mixologists around the world googled cocktail recipes. In Switzerland this resulted in the top ten of the year below.

And there you have it: the Swiss version: old cocktail classics are represented, as well as the ever-popular refreshing summer drinks. Also interesting is the comeback of some ’80s drinks – something that’s likely part of the TikTok-driven trend of so-called Cringe cocktails fit: not subtle, but colorful and fun. Seen in this light, number one on this list fits in perfectly. But we couldn’t help but smile a little.

orange juice
Champagne
Optionally, 1 teaspoon Grand Marnier
Add orange juice to a chilled champagne flute. Top up with champagne. Add some Grand Marnier if necessary.
5cl Lillet Blanc
10cl tonic water
Slice of cucumber, sprig of mint and pieces of strawberry for garnish
Fill a large wine glass with ice cubes, add the ingredients and garnish with a slice of cucumber, a sprig of mint and pieces of strawberry.
5cl tequila
2cl Triple Sec
1.5 cl fresh lime juice
Salt
Place the salt on a small flat plate. Run the rim of a margarita glass along the lime pulp and then dab it in the salt to create a fine salt rim. Add the remaining ingredients to a cocktail shaker filled with ice cubes, shake vigorously and strain into the glass.
3cl Campari
3 cl red vermouth
Some soda water
orange peel
Place Campari and vermouth in a highball glass filled with ice cubes, pour soda water over it and stir gently. Spray with a piece of orange peel and add to the drink.
6 cl Golden Rum
1.5 cl almond syrup
1.5 cl Orange Curaçao
2.5 cl fresh lime juice
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker filled with ice cubes and shake vigorously. Strain it into an old-fashioned glass filled with ice cubes. Don’t skimp on the garnish: fresh mint and/or pineapple pieces, maraschino cherries, pineapple leaves, etc.
4 cl Scotch whisky
2 cl Amaretto​ (or 4 cl if you like something sweeter)
Fill an old-fashioned glass 3/4 full with ice cubes. Add the whiskey and amaretto and stir gently.
3 cl vodka
3 cl Blue Curaçao
2 cl Roses Lime Cordial (or if you want something less sweet: 2 cl freshly squeezed lemon juice)
Citro (e.g. Sprite)
Lemon wedge and maraschino cherry for garnish
Add the vodka, Blue Curaçao and the Lime Cordial (or lemon juice) to a highball glass filled with ice cubes and stir gently. Brush with Sprite and garnish with a lemon slice and maraschino cherry.
2 cl Saint Germain elderflower liqueur
1 dl Prosecco
5cl soda water
Mint, lime
Place a few mint leaves in a large wine glass and fill with ice cubes. Swirl the glass slightly so that the coin is rubbed on the inside rim of the glass. Add the remaining ingredients and garnish with 1-2 lime wedges.
2cl Bacardi
2 cl gin
2 cl vodka
2cl Cointreau
2cl tequila
Juice of one lemon
Coke
Add Bacardi, gin, vodka, Cointreau, tequila and lemon juice to a highball glass filled with ice cubes. Top up with Coca-Cola and stir gently. Garnish with a lime slice and serve with a straw.

4 cl orange juice
4 cl cranberry juice
Add all ingredients to a highball or hurricane glass filled with ice cubes. Garnish with an orange segment and a maraschino cherry.
