The streaming service ‘Nasa Plus’ would be launched on Wednesday, November 8. The American space agency announced this in a short preview video. The channel will be available for free and without advertising.
The “family-friendly streaming service” will give users access to the space agency’s Emmy Award-winning live coverage, the report said. The content included series and live launches of rockets.
At the beginning of the channel, NASA broadcasts an animated series called “Lucy”. In it, a five-eyed spaceship goes on an adventurous journey through space to visit the so-called Trojans. The spacecraft hopes the journey will allow it to learn more about the formation of our solar system.
The story of the series is based on the NASA probe “Lucy”. The vehicle would have to fly past seven of the so-called Jupiter Trojans: Eurybates, Queta, Polymele, Leucus, Orus, Patroclus and Menoetius.
The Jupiter Trojans are asteroids that orbit the sun in the same orbit as Jupiter. They are considered “fossils of planet formation.” That’s why NASA hopes the mission will provide new insights into the formation of the planets and our solar system – just like the small spaceship in the animated series.
The NASA+ streaming service will be available on major mobile platforms via the ‘NASA’ app on iOS and Android. NASA also wants to offer its service on platforms such as Roku, Apple TV and Fire TV or in the browser.
As of the early evening of November 8, the announced streaming service had not yet been integrated into the NASA app. A corresponding update has been long overdue in the app stores. Meanwhile, nasa.gov still said “Coming Soon.”
