Dear Huber Quizzers
The younger ones among you won’t know it, and I’ll just throw the older ones straight into the deep valley of sentimentality: Ah, how cozy Monday evenings used to be. When it felt like everyone in Switzerland was sitting in front of the TV watching “Tell Star” (or the stopgap “Dream Couple”). The quiz with moderator Beni Turnheer first ran weekly from 1980 to 1991, then every two weeks.
For me as a three cheese high (born 1977) the questions were still too demanding back then. That’s probably why I have an affinity for difficult quizzes today. So if you get frustrated again because the questions are too difficult: it’s all Beni Turnheer’s fault!
Anyway.
After 250 broadcasts it was over. And with that I elegantly join our weekly quiz. We have arrived at number 255 – and with that we have left “Tell Star” behind. If someone had told me at the time that I would one day be responsible for creating a weekly quiz – and that I would do it every Friday for years… I would have signed up right away. On another 250 songs.
So.
Quizzes now.
And don’t forget: it’s all Beni Turnheer’s fault!
