Around the local mountain of Beat Feuz!

Skip Feuz’s favorite track

Driving the latest model Eiger from e-FRAMER, Beat Feuz’s favorite route is at his old home in Emmental BE. This is not a signposted trail, the downhill legend calls the route “The Hohgant Circle”. The entire Hohgant massif is a majestic seven-kilometer-long mountain range, with Hohgant itself at 2163 meters above sea level. It’s a very challenging route, Feuz says. “In between, you have to carry the bike up and down for 15 minutes.” Which requires a good level of fitness with an e-mountain bike. “Risk-loving, well-practiced downhill people can also ride their bikes downhill.” The route goes from Schangnau to Kemmeriboden-Bad. From there it turns south along the mountain range to the Grünenberg Pass and back to Schangnau via Eriz.

Appenzeller hill fun

The route, approximately 50 kilometers long and 900 meters high, is ideal for e-mountain bikes as it passes through the gentle hills of Appenzell. In Appenzell you start the bike ride along the Sitter to Eggersstanden, then continue to the meeting point and the Schlatt where an impressive panorama awaits you. Engine stops on landing at Haslen, continues to Jakobsbad via Hundwil and Urnäsch. Numerous resorts lure with local specialties that you should not miss.

View of the Valais peaks

The climb on this signposted route near Reckingen VS in Obergoms is challenging, but you are rewarded with stunning views of the valleys and the Weisshorn, Matterhorn and Galenstock. The tour starts in Reckingen and first goes north to Bächital, then ascends over the serpentines to approximately 2400 meters above sea level. From there, you descend about 300 meters down a single/flow path to the Galmihornhütte, an ideal place to unwind. The route to Münster and back to Reckingen is now easier.

In the footsteps of the Romans

Cycling tours can be pretty downhill and uphill, even in parts of the country not known for their mountains. An e-bike is well suited for this. An example: a route that leads to past places where ancient Romans lived, such as Augusta Raurica (August), one of the most important Roman settlements in the Basel region and Switzerland, or the Roman villa in the Liestal district of Munzach. The route starts at Pratteln BL and goes to Farnsburg via Augst, Arisdorf and Nusshof. Then return to Pratteln via Ormalingen and Sissach.
