Surprisingly, Apple presented new premium laptops and other hardware on Tuesday and announced the launch. The new MacBook Pro models should not only be the most powerful MacBooks yet, but also set new standards in battery life.
According to the manufacturer, the new Macbook Pro lasts up to 22 hours on a single charge, the longest of any Mac. The new WLAN standard WiFi 6E is supported, which is up to twice as fast as the previous generation.
The new MacBook Pro models with M2 Pro and M2 Max are available to order now (Tuesday, January 17) at apple.com/store and the Apple Store app in 27 countries and regions, including Switzerland.
The new 14-inch MacBook Pro starts at 2199 francs (and cheaper for education) and the 16-inch MacBook Pro starts at 2749 francs.
The new premium laptops begin shipping on Tuesday, January 24 and are available at Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Resellers.
That’s not all, Apple also presented the new Mac Mini on Tuesday. The small desktop computer is available with an M2 chip from CHF 649. With the new M2 Pro chip, the smallest Mac is available from CHF 1,399.
The M2 chip model has two Thunderbolt 4 ports and supports up to two external displays. The new Mac Mini with M2 Pro has four Thunderbolt 4 ports and supports up to three displays.
Both models have two USB-A ports, an HDMI port, a Gigabit Ethernet port with an option for 10 GB (surcharge CHF 110) and an improved headphone jack (for high-impedance headphones).
Delivery will start on January 24.
