Chinese automaker BYD does not want to be successful only in small and medium size cars in the future. BYD presents two luxury models, the U8 and U9, under its new premium brand Yangwang.
And the two new electric figures from the BYD group couldn’t be more different. The Yangwang U8 all-terrain vehicle, which is more than five meters long with four electric motors, brings its huge engine power of over 1100 HP to the roads in accordance with its type. Beautiful highlight: Visually reminiscent of the Land Rover Defender, the luxury SUV can spin like a tank in place, as the engines can be driven forward on one side and backward on the other. Despite its weight, the electric giant should stop less than 40 meters after a speed of 100 km/h.
Accelerate to 100 km/h in two seconds.
Based on the same E4 platform and therefore also equipped with four electric motors with over 1100 HP, the Yangwang U9 is an elegant high-performance super sports car. It accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in just two seconds.
The selling price of both Yangwang noble aircraft is around one million renminbi, which corresponds to about 140,000 francs. “The Yangwang brand will be the first brand from the BYD Group to use the latest technologies and provide customers with the highest level of safety, performance and experience even under the toughest driving conditions,” said Wang Chuanfu, chairman and chairman of BYD.
