In GTA 5 you can now visit a Baloise branch – with real employees

Switzerland is a country full of gaming enthusiasts. One of the most popular games is the online world of Grand Theft Auto 5, GTA 5 for short. Nowadays you can take out life insurance with banking and insurance service provider Baloise or withdraw money from one of their virtual ATMs. All you have to do is log in to the SwissHub server.

“Every minute there are car thefts, burglaries and property damage: no city presents as many dangers as Los Santos. But this scene of lawlessness is now being made safer,” Baloise said in a press release on Wednesday.

Baloise wants to demonstrate her expertise in what is probably the most dangerous city in the world. To obtain insurance, the players had to stop by the company’s headquarters in Los Santos.

Branch with helicopter landing pad

In the style of the video game, it was equipped with a lobby, an office and an underground parking garage, as well as a swimming pool and a helicopter landing pad on the roof.

“We want to present ourselves in a humorous and surprising way and turn the rather dusty subject of insurance into something that our young audience can experience in a playful way,” says Daniel Zangger, Head of Branding at Baloise, about the project.

All banks and ATMs now also carry the Baloise company logo.

The offer

The virtual Baloise offers its customers car insurance for cars, motorcycles, bicycles, boats and planes, making the towing service cheaper. Anyone who takes out life or term life insurance will not lose all their belongings in the event of virtual death, but can collect them at the Baloise branch. Legal expenses insurance also ensures that a possible stay in prison is shortened by a quarter.

The Los Santos branch is managed by a General Agent and a General Agent. The virtual avatars will be present during the month-long launch phase from Wednesday to Saturday from 6pm to 10pm.
