FusionSolar 2024 to increase photovoltaic energy

Panama, February 6, 2024. Huawei has made a global launch focused on FusionSolar’s top 10 trends for 2024. The theme was “Continuous Innovation, High Quality Development, Acceleration photovoltaic energy become the main source of energy”. At the event, Hao Yingtao, Vice President and CMO of Smart PV & ESS Business at Huawei Digital Power, comprehensively analyzed future trends. The analysis focused on one main trend, five key characteristics and four core technologies, providing valuable information on the development of high technologies the quality of the photovoltaic industry. His presentation concluded with the publication of the White Paper.

Hao Yingtao noted that carbon neutrality is gaining momentum globally, and the photovoltaic and energy storage industries are booming. According to the International Agency for Renewable Energy (IRENA), it is expected that the photovoltaic capacity iInstalled capacity will reach 5,200 GW by 2030 and 14,000 GW by 2050, with renewable energy sources accounting for more than 90% of the total capacity, and photovoltaics playing a dominant role. As renewable energy sources, especially photovoltaics, continue to penetrate the market, the industry faces significant challenges in grid connectivity, operation, security, etc. Opportunities and challenges always coexist.

Huawei is pleased to share Top 10 trends for high-quality photovoltaic development.

Trend 1: PV and ESS become in stable power
As system prices PV and ESS continue to fall and new technologies As they are consolidated, PV and ESS systems have become a stable source of energy and will be the main source of energy in the next three years.

Trend 2: Management of tens of millions of power plants
The number of power plants is growing exponentially, and efficient and intelligent planning of energy production, transmission, distribution and consumption will become a key requirement

Trend 3: The entire life cycle of intelligence
Power plant management is moving from maintenance to operation. lSmart technology will significantly increase profits planning, construction, maintenance and operation.

Trend 4: Formation of the electrical network in all scenarios.
“Grid Forming” technology has been successfully applied in some commercial scenarios. It will rapidly expand to all scenarios in the future, which could improve the grid and promote large-scale renewable energy supply.

Trend 5: Four dimensions of security.
Security requirements have evolved from mere equipment security to holistic security four dimensions to ensure the long-term reliability of the new energy system.

Trend 6: ESS Security: from cell to network
Great application BESS and improvement of safety standards require a system of energy storage to achieve safety capability from the cell level to the power grid level.

Trend 7: MLPE and CLPE
The need for refined control has driven the massive commercialization of module-level power electronics (MLPE) and continues to influence the energy storage industry, leading to cell-level electronics (CLPE). MLPE and CLPE have become new requirements for distributed photovoltaic plants.

Trend 8: High voltage and reliability
He high voltage reduces LCOE of photovoltaic system and ESS, and high reliability improves high availability and achieves maximum security.

Trend 9: High frequency and high energy density
Density of power to the inverter continues improvement by applying the third generation of semiconductors and digital technology.

Trend 10: High power quality
To promote the wide application of photovoltaic and ESS systems in the entire area industry by continuously improving the quality of electricity.

Innovation and quality are key to the photovoltaic industry. Huawei FusionSolar cwill continue to increase investment in research and development, focus on the innovative integration of watt, bit, thermal and battery (4T) technologies and align with customers’ business requirements. The company hopes to build high-quality and reliable products and solutions to accelerate the development of the photovoltaic industry through technological innovation. Huawei FusionSolar will cooperate with global customers and partners to promote high-quality industry development, enable green photovoltaics as an important energy source for every home and business, and build a better, greener future.
