Broaden horizons: ChatGPT has events until April 2023

The popular AI chatbot ChatGPT will be kept informed of events until April this year. Until now, the program’s knowledge of the world ended in September 2021. Developer OpenAI will aim to never fall so far behind again, boss Sam Altman said on Monday. The timeliness of the information needs to be further improved over time.

Shortly before the OpenAI announcement, tech billionaire Elon Musk presented a chatbot from his AI company X.AI, which can access new information from the online platform X (formerly Twitter), which he also owns.

ChatGPT now runs on the new generation AI technology GPT-4 Turbo, introduced by OpenAI on Monday. Other innovations include making it easier to create specialized chatbots for individual tasks. For example, this could involve advice on removing stains from laundry or explaining the rules of the game.

OpenAI calls such assistants GPTs – and according to Altman, they can only be programmed by voice. This feature could undermine the activities of companies that specialize in customizing ChatGPT for specific applications.

AI chatbots such as ChatGPT can formulate texts at the language level of a human. The principle behind this is that they estimate word by word how a sentence should proceed.
