As if someone had scaled down the motoring classics of the last few years, the Bentley Blower Junior is silently making its electric debut at Auto Zurich, which runs until Media Day on Sunday. It is offered by Schmohl Exclusive Cars AG, the official supplier of mini classic replicas from the British manufacturer The Little Car Company.

Created in collaboration with Bentley, the Blower Junior is an 85 percent replica of the legendary 1929 Bentley Blower, but equipped with electric power. Designed specifically for the road. This makes the Mini-Bentley the Little Car Company’s first electric car to receive official road approval in the UK and Europe.

Small car, big stage

Organizers of what is now Switzerland’s largest motor show, Karl Bieri (73) and Ines Nägeli (56), are organizing an event called Media Day for the first time this year, the day before the official opening of Auto Zurich. There is a show where automakers are allowed to present their most important innovations to press representatives in nine-minute performances on an impromptu stage.

When the little Bentley Blower takes the stage, the audience’s first reaction is a collective “Jööö”. And rightly so, the lovely mini-Bentley delights with impressive attention to detail: wrapped in a typical Bentley green dress with a matching painted chassis. Hand-painted national flags of the United Kingdom adorn both sides of the fuselage; Every Mini Bentley is a hand-built one-off.

Quietly on the street

Visually, the similarity to the original is unmistakable; Bentley Blower Junior looks different when it hits the road: all mini classics from the Little Car Company are fully electric. Weighing 550 kilos, the Bentley produces up to 20 hp (15 kW), enough for a top speed of 75 km/h; It needs to be recharged after approximately 100 kilometers. In Europe and Great Britain, the small electric car is registered as a vehicle in category L7e; for example, Microlino also falls into this category.

Limited to 99 pieces, 57 of the first edition models have already been sold, despite the flattering price of 224,000 francs. As well as the Bentley Blower, British manufacturer Little Car Company also offers the Mini Aston Martin DB5, Ferrari Testa Rossa Junior and the baby Bugatti Type 35. Those who want to marvel at some of the luxury classic cars in miniature format in the flesh can do so at the Schmohl Exclusive Cars stand in Hall 6 at Auto Zurich until Sunday.
