More than 80 young people are preparing in technical fields

A large number of young people participated in the second version forum “Youth entrepreneurship and employability in technology”, whose goal is to promote professional development and entrepreneurial capacities in the technological field.

The event was attended by students from Technological University of Panama (UTP) from the Panama Oeste and Colón regional headquarters, alongside graduates of the Technology and Information Career Program promoted by Google and the Inter-American Development Bank Innovation Lab (BIDLab).

Young people had the opportunity to listen words of great experts in the field of technology such as Vielsa Gómez, Karil Trejo, Samuel Díaz and Gricelda Pineda.

Fransheska Quijada, The country director of the non-governmental organization (NGO), Glasswing International, said that the aim of such events is to provide young people with a space to learn and update on key aspects for employment, motivation for self-employment and entrepreneurship. .

for his part, Ramon Real, the Emerging Voices coordinator of the United States Embassy in Panama, motivated young people to continue to improve and was the ideal environment to invite them to be part of their ‘Leaders of the Americas’ program.

“Young people with their already formed and established companies apply for these scholarships, as part of which they travel to the USA for four weeks and work on the topics of entrepreneurship and leadership. You apply online and five to six people are selected. The age limit is from 25 to 30 years old,” he pointed out.

With the success of this technology forum, the organizing companies decided to do so A version of this event will be held in the province of Chiriquí next November 18, where a capacity of 50 young people is expected.
