Horacio Pagani’s new masterpiece is very tellingly called Utopia.

Pagani’s super sports cars may be too much fun for some, but for their creators they are simply perfect: the new masterpiece of Argentinian founder Horacio Pagani (67) is pointedly called Utopia and is faster and more powerful than its two predecessors, the Zonda. and Huayra.

This year the Italian dream company celebrates its 25th anniversary. On the occasion of these celebrations, Swiss importer Kessel Auto is presenting the Utopia for the first time in Switzerland at the current Auto Zurich. You can find the magnificent piece at the Kessel Auto stand in Hall 3 of the exhibition area.

go back to roots

With Utopia, a new page opens at Pagani, after the Zonda in 1999 and the Huayra in 2012: After six years of development, a completely new third model came to light in 2022. Utopia is more classic than previous models; especially since elite customers can choose between an automatic or manual 7-speed transmission.

Beneath the sharply shaped sheetmetal lies – as always with Pagani – the powerful 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 engine from Mercedes-AMG, which delivers 864 hp (635 kW) and a maximum torque of 1100 Nm to the asphalt. Utopia rockets from zero to 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds; Its top speed is an incredible figure of 350 km/h.

Design on four wheels

Horacio Pagani’s top priority has always been to design timeless cars. Utopia is inspired by design objects from the 1950s, such as the original lights of the Vespa or the rigging of the Riva speedboat. The Zonda and Huayra have a very tapered front. This was somewhat neutralized in Utopia and the appearance became more curvy. A detail that should not be overlooked is the central four-pipe exhaust, a tradition at Pagani since 1999.

Limited to 99 units, the lightweight hypercar can be purchased for a price equivalent to approximately 2.5 million francs, or not because the entire Utopia series was already sold out before its presentation in 2022. But as you know, Pagani will be followed by roadsters and special versions. The dream on four wheels at the current Auto Zurich is definitely worth a look.
