Signs that indicate that your Smart TV is malfunctioning

Today, you can do practically everything on a Smart TV, from watching your favorite series and movies to sending messages on WhatsApp. At the same time, not forgetting that there is also the possibility of downloading applications and browsing the Internet as if it were a computer.

Although television has become an important device in the home, we must not forget that, like any electronic device, Smart TV has its own life cycle, so it is normal that, as it ages, it starts to wear out. .

In addition, there are certain habits that users usually have with their televisions, which cause damage to the screen or other components of the equipment.

Some of the main mistakes are: placing it in the wrong place. Experts explain that it is a mistake to place the TV in a place where the sunlight is very intense or there is a lot of moisture.

It is also considered a mistake to locate the device in areas where a lot of heat is generated, since the ideal temperature range for TV operation is from 0 to 40 degrees, so it should be located at a good distance from lamps and other heat sources.

Cleaning the screen with napkins or newspaper moistened with chemicals also carries a high risk of creating a few scratches on the TV panel.

In addition, these liquids can cause large spots on the panel and affect image quality.

Pay attention to the signs

There are certain signs that indicate that your TV is about to die, learn to recognize them in time to avoid bigger problems.

1. Problems with HDMI ports

One of the first signs that your Smart TV might be in trouble is when you start having problems with the HDMI ports. If this component fails, you won’t be able to connect your Blu-ray player, Xbox or PlayStation, among other important entertainment devices.

If you notice that the TV picture freezes when switching from one input to another, or if the signal from a device is lost on the way to the screen, you probably have a problem with this connection.

Make sure you check the cables and devices before you conclude that the HDMI on the TV is faulty.

2. Dead pixels

These are small black dots that appear on the screen of your TV and do not disappear with time, that is, they do not work properly and have no solution.

Generally, they originate from errors in the manufacturing process. Although today’s TVs have a limited lifespan, dead pixels may be covered under warranty if proven to be an original defect.

3. Screen lit

Screen burn-in or image retention are problems that can negatively affect the quality of your viewing experience, whether you’re watching a movie or playing a video game.

These problems occur when the screen’s pixels wear out from displaying a static image for long periods of time, leaving permanent marks on the screen.

The cause and severity of this problem depends on the type of board. To avoid this problem, it is advisable not to keep static images for a long time.

Use low power mode or screen saver and adjust the brightness and contrast according to your Smart TV settings. If the error continues, it’s a sign that you need a new TV.

4. Reduced image quality

The digital technology of today’s televisions makes the picture perfect or flawed. If you notice that the quality of the picture has deteriorated significantly, for example, with changed colors, stripes on the screen or irregular lighting, this means that your Smart TV has a serious malfunction.

These problems usually have no simple solution and may mean you need to change your TV. Some common image quality problems include:

To extend the life of your device, do not leave it on for long periods of time. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures, do not shake it and it is recommended to activate the screen saver function to prevent image burn.
