This value is particularly important in the used car business, as approximately 750,000 used cars are sold each year. Sometimes there’s a lot of money involved. Considering the fluctuations in recent years, second-hand vehicle prices stand out in particular.

Experts at Farie emphasize that in addition to brand, model, equipment and mileage, statistical values ​​and market analysis are also included in pricing. “We analyze around 1,000 cars every day to know the market exactly,” says data scientist Marco Morf. Thanks to this data, the online store can offer cars at market-oriented, transparent sales prices. What is surprising is what affects the selling price of a used car.

What role does color play?

What most people don’t realize is that the color of the vehicle also plays an important role. There are vehicles that are especially sought after. In Switzerland, Volkswagen Group cars are always among the best sellers. Whether new or used car: VW, Audi and Skoda are far ahead. The absence of Tesla, which has been Switzerland’s best-selling car for several years, according to Comparis, is due to the fact that only a few of these vehicles are available on the second-hand market.
