This is a paid post brought to you by Davos Klosters.

Challenging bike trails, pleasant e-bike paths or gently sloping side valleys: thanks to its variable landscape, Davos Klosters has countless routes for every taste. The network of trails is very well developed, including about 700 kilometers of single trails, ranging from “fluid” to “impaired” for active vacationers. The fast paced “Bike Hard” video with renowned test biker Tom Oehler (40) and the compilation of 10 good reasons below show that the bike offer in the popular resort area meets the highest demands and offers a breathtaking panorama at the same time!

one

The longest single track in Switzerland

One of the main attractions in the cycling Mecca of Graubünden is the «Alps Epic Trail Davos». This stretches from Jakobshorn at an altitude of about 2600 meters to Filisur in the Albula Valley. A record-breaking route: This 40-kilometer single track is the only cycling route in the Alps to be included in the “Epic Rides” list of the “International Mountain Bike Association Imba”.

2

Double lane road under construction

The Davos Klosters region goes a step further by parsing part of the “Epic Trail of the Alps” described above. The double track in the Jakobshorn-Rinerhorn section will be completed by mid-July so that cycling and hiking enthusiasts can coexist even better. The new walking track will be located a few meters above the existing bike track.

3

Rail tour for those who demand

The cable car tour is a special experience for experienced and hardy cyclists. At a distance of 81 kilometers, mountain railways take you up eight times, and the only roads descend from an altitude of about 10,000 meters. The catering is fully integrated into the “flow” of the cycling adventure: bring pizza to the valley station of the Parsenn cable car and dine on the way. Meanwhile, sporty drivers can complete the tour in one day. The route can also be extended to two days.

4

Fast paced video with cycling ambassador Tom Oehler

Mountain bike star Tom Oehler shows what awaits bikers at Davos Klosters in his new video “Bike Hard”. The Austrian Red Bull athlete holds two world records (high jump, fastest trail cyclist) and has recently become a cycling ambassador for the popular Graubünden resort area. In the fast-paced film, Oehler also meets well-known local faces such as world downhill ski champion Jasmine Flury and can even help her with number one. Additionally, “Bike Hard” has a Hollywood twist: It’s no coincidence that the title is based on “Die Hard” starring Bruce Willis. Reason? Fans will recognize the movie star’s German-dubbed voice in the video: “Are you ready for the 700km single track? Well then, Yippie-Ya-Yay, pig cheek!”

5

Trail tolerance is king

At Davos Klosters – as with all Graubünden – track tolerance is a top priority. This means that mountain bikers, hikers and trail runners share paths and respect each other according to the “Fairtrail” motto. Concretely, mountain bikers make themselves noticed at an early stage, slowing down to walking speed when overtaking, and stopping to make room for hikers when crossing narrow paths. Second, it opens the way when it meets at wider points where possible and reasonable.

6

Enjoyable e-bike tours

Thanks to the e-mountain bikes, those with a slightly less pronounced fitness level or those who want to go on longer bike tours can also get around the rugged terrain of Davos Klosters. For experts, there are tours, for example, to the picturesque side valleys of Davos and Klosters. The two e-bike gastro tours in Davos and Klosters also deserve a special mention. These culinary biking experiences lead easy routes through the Davos and Klosters landscapes and offer a variety of places to stop for refreshments along the way. If you prefer adventure and endurance and have the appropriate riding skills, the three-day e-bike hut tour with overnight stays at Berghaus Vereina and Berggasthaus Dürrboden is the right choice.

7

Also ideal for families

There are also suitable routes especially for families with children. A particularly nice round trip, for example, covers more than 13 kilometers and provides a kid-friendly elevation difference of just 200 meters from Klosters via Monbiel to Alp Garfiun and back to Klosters. The skill area where driving technique can be developed using various elements is integrated here. You can satisfy your hunger by roasting cervelat in the barbecue area in the same place.

8.

Practicing in the Färich bike park

Bike-Park Färich offers an ideal application area to improve your cycling skills. The various application area includes, for example, a dirt jump line for advanced users and a skill park and pump course for beginners and advanced users alike. The adjacent rope park and cozy restaurant Chalet Velo provide variety. If you want to learn excellent mountain bike technique or improve your skills, you can also do so in a mountain bike riding technique course with certified mountain bike instructors as part of the summer guest program.
