When I’m stuck in a traffic jam on the highway, I’m often subject to motorcycles overtaking through the pillars in the middle. Sometimes even when the pillars are already moving at speeds of 60 to 100 km/h. Is this allowed?

Nobody likes traffic jams. Motorcyclists need less space to overtake than a car. This encourages many motorcyclists to use the gap to pass stationary or mobile convoys on the Highway.
Article 44 of the Road Traffic Code (SVG) stipulates that you can only leave your lane (eg to overtake) in traffic queues if you are not putting other road users in danger. 47/2 of the SVG. The article states: “When traffic stops, motorcyclists must maintain their place in the convoy.”
This means: On standing pillars the motorcyclist must remain in place. If traffic moves again, a driver in convoy traffic, including motorcyclists, may leave the lane to overtake only if no other road users are in danger.
In convoy traffic, there is not enough space for two vehicles side by side in the same direction in the same lane. Anyone passing a vehicle on the right between the pillars behaves dangerously and seriously violates the traffic rules. In any case, this could result in license revocation and other sanctions.
