Two new women on the board of directors: President Blanc elected for third and final term

The former referee and president of the amateur league has been in charge of the SFV since 2019 and is now entering his third and final term of office. The two additional positions will be filled by women, taking into account the demand to promote women more at the official level. ‘Historic step in Swiss football’

In 2020, the SFV established a women’s football directorate, the first time in its history that a woman was appointed to the board of directors. At the beginning of this year, Marion Daube replaced Tatjana Haenni, the new sports director of the American women’s league, in this position.

“Two women on the central board – that’s another historic step in Swiss football,” said Blanc, who is committed to promoting women’s football. “Women should play a key role in Swiss football in the future.” The newly elected through a selection process will serve on the Board of Directors from July 1, 2024.

Partners are still being sought to finance the project. Such a center, modeled after Coverciano (Italy) or Clairefontaine (France), would be home to the SFV and its national teams, including office buildings, medical care and hotels.
