What brought about the change of team boss at Ferrari?: Now even Alpine is pulling the pants off the Ferraris

The field behind the sovereign leader and later winner Verstappen meandered like a procession through the street gorges. It was his 39th win – two more and he will overtake Ayrton Senna.

Among the celebrities, we also saw FIFA boss Infantino, football wizard Neymar, Justin Bieber, Michael Douglas, ski god Marco Odermatt etc.

Ferrari only one lap fast

“The rain changed everything and we had to give up our ambitions for a podium,” said year-old Frédéric Vasseur (55). Sure, the reds are even worse on a wet track than on a dry GP track.

In the end, Ferrari only took 12 points (6th Leclerc, 8th Sainz). Both lost more than a minute to Verstappen. The Italians only secured the disappointing fourth place at the World Cup.

The controversial change of boss

Many fans and Italo media are wondering: what actually caused the change of team manager from Binotto to Vasseur? Ferrari is now 17 races without a win (Spielberg 2022) – and the drivers can really only shine in one fast lap.

So you can’t compromise the market leader Red Bull-Honda, the annual sensation Aston Martin-Mercedes (2nd Alonso) and even the strengthened Mercedes factory team (4th Hamilton, 5th Russell) this year. “We hope for our adjustments for Barcelona,” says Vasseur after the completely messed up birthday.

Will the dry period last longer this time?

Permanent optimist Vasseur finally hit the hard ground of reality in Monte Carlo – thanks in part to two pilots who were once again imperfect. Yes, even Alpine (3rd Ocon, 7th Gasly) took off Ferrari’s pants in the Mediterranean!

The world titles of Jody Scheckter in 1979 and Michael Schumacher in 2000 were 21 years apart. This time, after Kimi Räikkönen in 2007, it could take longer for the big party in Maranello.
