Where does Lucerne’s jewel Jashari go in the summer?

The Super League season will be over in 180 minutes. That also means that Ardon Jashari (20)’s time at FC Luzern is coming to an end. There are two games left in which he looks to show all his skills again and give Central Switzerland one last treat by qualifying for Europe on the field.

After that, despite the contract until 2026, the signs are goodbye. At the FCL everyone expects Jashari to pull away after a steep climb. “We have to be realistic,” said coach Mario Frick recently. In January 2022, de Baarer had a meager 28 minutes of play with the professionals under his belt. He is now an undisputed FCL regular and captain, as well as a national team player and World Cup driver. As a result, the market value has exploded to 6 million francs.

Moving abroad is realistic

It is only logical that several clubs from different countries have been informed about the Lucerne talent in recent months. These include Porto, RB Leipzig and Atalanta. It is said that it is still completely open where Jashari is going. However, a transfer abroad is considered more likely than a move within the Super League – for example to YB.

It’s only been a few days since Raphael Wicky made it no secret that Berners were interested in key players from their competitors. “Of course the club is looking around the league.” Last summer they brought in Kastriot Imeri from Servette and Filip Ugrinic from Lucerne. The players wondered: am I ready for a foreign transfer or should I go to Switzerland’s best club first? “And that’s YB,” emphasizes the master trainer.

Three factors decide

Jashari herself is currently keeping a low profile. As he himself once said, three factors are particularly important to him before taking the next step: “The club, the project and the timing.”

Whichever club it will be: FC Luzern can look forward to a nice transfer fee. The jewel should fetch between five and eight million francs. After that it is up to sports director Remo Meyer to find a replacement. Jashari for his part has the potential to assert himself in a new place and at a higher level if given enough playing time. Frick is convinced of that too: “I see no boundaries for Ardon.”
