Joel Bieri from Bern will be the new head of ski jumping and Nordic combined disciplines at Swiss-Ski on June 1. Bieri succeeds Berni Schödler, who left the association at the end of last season after 13 years.
For the past three years, Bieri has worked as the head of young talent in the ski jumping and Nordic combined sports at Swiss-Ski. The 33-year-old had previously studied sports management at the Graubünden University of Applied Sciences in Chur and held various positions in the events sector. In 2018 he was, among other things, head of the OC at the Nordic Junior World Championships in Kandersteg.
Joel Bieri is a former team athlete in the Nordic combined and won two bronze medals at Swiss Championships (2008 and 2009). At World Cup level, he and Switzerland came fourth in January 2010 at the team competition in Schonach. (SDA)
