1/4
St. Gallen lost the first leg of the play-off semi-final against Servette 1:2.

38 seconds are played in the second half, so Servette uses the first half’s chance to score a goal. With the friendly help of St. Gallen goalie Böhi, Nakkach scores the 1-1. The 19-year-old slips the napkin player’s shot between her hands. Four minutes later, things get even more bitter for the Espens. Top scorer Padilla makes it 2-1 out of the blue, Servette leads thanks to a strong six minutes.

The two goals against are a brutal atmosphere killer in the iconic Espenmoos, because until the first half there is not much to see from the favorites from Geneva. It is St. Gallen that puts the stamp on the game.

Wrong decision in the first half?

In the 26th minute it gets really loud for the first time. Espen striker Ardita Iseni goes alone for the Servette goal after a win against Laura Felber, but is called off due to foul play. Tricky decision. Both players pull each other, but only the napkin player goes down.

Shortly before the break, however, he still falls out, the St. Gallen lead. Almost at the halftime signal, Naja Glanzmann made the well-deserved 1-0 and caused ecstasy among the 724 spectators present. With a beautiful header, she lobs the ball over Servette goalie Pereira.

Servette warned about the second leg

Seasonally dominant Servette disappointed across the board until then. With another playoff shock in mind (Last year, Servette failed in the finals in Zurich), it came down to the second round and, thanks to St. Gallen’s gifts, she took the win.

Nevertheless, the performance gives the East Swiss guts for the second leg in a week. Coach Wunderlin has already sent a declaration of war to Geneva: “Now it is Gopfriedstutz the fourth time they have lost by one goal. At some point it will tilt to our side.”
