Andy Diouf has just scored a crucial goal in a European semi-final. But the only 19-year-old is not going to stand under the patting machine: “I don’t take myself seriously,” says the FCB eight with a disarmingly relaxed smile. “I’m rarely stressed in life, at least not when it comes to football. I can tune it all out and concentrate on the game. I came to Switzerland to get playing time and take it one step further,” says Diouf.

FCB recently put 5.5 million on the table to activate the purchase option for Diouf, after the victory in Florence, the midfielder should be worth more than double. However, the teenager does not want to talk about the best performance of his young career: “I was decisive, but it was not the best match of my life”, the naturally very calm protagonist puts it in perspective. He also does not want to overestimate the fact that he scored the equalizer with a dream goal. “Luckily I scored. If it hadn’t worked, my teammates would have killed me,” said Diouf, laughing. Asked about the possible final, Diouf says: “We have to show the same will and the same intensity as in the first leg to qualify. We can go into the history of the club, but also of Swiss football. The pressure will be positive for us .” Diouf does not want to talk about his future, he still has a contract with FCB until 2027.
