Obradoiro is focusing on the first round match so he can dream of a miracle in Barcelona

Author: PACO RODRIGUEZ

Five players from Moncho Fernández’s team scored in double figures against Barça in Sar

Obradoiro, after four consecutive defeats against Valencia Basket, Real Betis, Baskonia and Unicaja Málaga, he got some oxygen in Sara against Granada to travel to Barcelona in search of a miracle.

Blaugrana is after five consecutive victories after suddenly falling in Bilbao and to complicate their pursuit of first place in the regular league, they must win their three remaining games to finish the opening phase in the lead. On Friday, they will meet Obradoiro, risk their lives on the field of Baskonia, and finally they will receive Murcia in Palau.

While, Obradoiro prepares a clash with Barcelona fans with nothing to lose, already with the task done, but with the desire to give the bell and the star in another surprise this season, as Moncho Fernández’s men did in the first round in Sara against the team coached by Sarunas Jasikevicius. The 76-74 result in the Caldeira was one of five defeats Barça suffered in the domestic competition. The other four teams that dared to address this giant by name and had the strength to knock down the Blaugrana are Gran Canaria, Joventut, Zaragoza and Bilbao Basket. Barcelona beat Real Madrid twice and beat Baskonia in the first round.

In the previous match in Sar against Barcelona, up to five Obradoiro players scored in double figures: Phil Scrubb (15), Thomas Scrubb (13), Marek Blažević (13), Kassius Robertson (11) and Álvaro Muñoz (11). Phil Scrubb’s 2+1, just over five seconds before the end, sealed the game against the Catalans. Repeating in Palau seems like a tremendously complicated undertakingbut a brilliant defense like Sarova’s could make life miserable for Jasikevicius’s men, who are now thinking about many things.
