Record Haaland is an issue in the Real dressing room

Erling Haaland not only scores short and small in the Premier League (35 goals in 32 games!), but also in the Champions League. The Man City superstar has scored 12 times in 8 games this season. No wonder the Norwegian is also a subject in the dressing room of Real Madrid for the semi-finals. Real star Rodrygo reveals to the TV station “RTVE”: “We talk about everyone, not just Haaland. But Haaland is the one who scares you the most because he scores a lot of goals. With players like that you have to be very careful. We will try to stop him.”

Rodrygo: “No one knows how to stop Haaland”

When asked how to stop this force of nature, Rodrygo also has no answer. “I don’t think anyone knows that yet, because he keeps scoring goals in every game. I hope he doesn’t score against us,” says the Brazilian, who also scored twice in the 2-1 Spanish Cup final against Osasuna on Saturday.

Haaland goalless? Actually unimaginable. The 22-year-old has played against 15 different opponents in the premier class so far, against 13 he scored at least once. He only remained goalless against Ajax Amsterdam and against his current team ManCity. He has never played against Real.

Without Haaland, Man City were already at eye level last year

In a total of 27 games in the Champions League, Haaland scored 35 times. He scored 23 with his left hand, 8 with his right hand and 4 with his head. This makes him the youngest player to score 35 goals and the one who needed the fewest games to do so. These are just two of his countless Champions League records (see box).

But Man City is more than Haaland. Last year, without the wonder striker, Pep Guardiola’s side brought eventual Champions League winners Real to the brink of defeat in the semi-finals. Only a Benzema penalty goal in stoppage time made it to the final. Rodrygo: “We know Man City are a great team. But we are confident that we can beat them.”
