August 1996. Xamax defender Jean-Pierre Cyprien jumped St. Gallen coach Roger Hegi in the abdomen with a straight leg and received 15 suspensions. The rough neck also attracts attention in the fourth division of France. First he punches an opponent in the face, then after the game he drives his car into the opponent’s minibus – and injures two occupants in the process.

Reason for the anger: Constantin had previously deported seven players to posterity and withheld salaries.

November 2022. Sion striker Mario Balotelli gave FCB fans the middle finger four times, grabbed him in the crotch, was suspended and compared the Swiss Football League to a mafia association. Shortly afterwards, when he scored the first Valais goal in the 7-2 defeat to St Gallen, he presented a closed umbrella on his jersey. The « gesto dell ombrello », the umbrella gesture, is similar to the middle finger in Italy.

July 2008. YB loses 1:2 in Basel, and Carlos Varela, the Bernese protagonist, throws forward a saying that will still be quoted in ten, twenty, thirty years: “Have de Schlitte, du huere Schissdrägg du.” What is meant is an FCB player, probably Valentin Stocker, happily strides through the catacombs.

Four Wettingen players attack the referee. He has to flee into the cabin under kicks and punches. Afterwards, Klötzli says: “As far as the rules are concerned, I didn’t make any mistakes. But I have to admit that the moment of the final whistle was not exactly well chosen psychologically.”

May 2023. FCB terrier Taulant Xhaka (32) completely loses his composure in the classic against FCZ. First he grabs Antonio Marchesano in the face, then he headbutts Nikola Katic. Memories of the 2006 World Cup final are awakened when the great Zinedine Zidane knocked his opponent Marco Materazzi to the ground with a “coup de boule” shortly before the end of extra time.
