The Edmonton Oilers tied their NHL playoff series with the Vegas Golden Knights 1-1 on wins. On Sunday night, the Oilers dominated the second game of the series, winning 5-1.
After his four goals in the lost opening game (4:6), the German Leon Draisaitl scored twice this time and scored his 13th goal in the eighth playoff game of the season. In more than 100 years, no NHL player has scored as many goals in the first eight playoff games. Draisaitl now has 30 goals after a total of 45 playoff games in the North American professional league. Only Wayne Gretzky in Oilers history reached that mark faster — after 37 games.
After two and a half minutes, Draisaitl scored a 1-0 lead in the majority game and after 16 minutes of play it was 4-0. The Oilers also scored 2-0 on the power play, but they managed to outnumber it 3-0. No team in the current playoffs is more accurate in overtime than the Oilers.
In addition to Draisaitl, Connor McDavid also scores twice. With the away win, the Oilers secured home field advantage. The third game will take place in Edmonton on Tuesday-evening. (SDA)
