Clos Gómez, in the match between Deportivo and Barcelona Author: CAESAR WHOAN
The anti-corruption prosecution, in the context of the Negreira case, is studying the report with the real estate assets of four active referees in the Spanish League: Carlos Clos Gómez, Alejandro Hernández Hernández, Santiago Jaime Latre and José Maria Sánchez Martínez. These last two, appointed a few days ago to direct the Copa del Rey final this Saturday (Sánchez on green and Latre in VAR). This is stated by the newspaper El Debate, alluding to the fact that it had access to a 55-page document, “classified as confidential”, “where the real estate purchases of all of them are described in detail”. Many of them were paid in cash without asking the bank for any mortgage loan.
According to this information, Clos Gómez. the head of the VAR Technical Referee Committee, has seven properties that are estimated at more than one million euros in total: a villa in Pinsequé (Zaragoza) of 813 square meters; house in Moncófar (Castellón), with two parking spaces and a storage room; the other two houses and a storage room in Zaragoza; and the last one of 147 square meters in Villanueva del Pardillo (Madrid), for which, unlike the others, he requested a mortgage loan.
As for Santiago Jaime Latre, he would also have, always according to information from El Debate, seven properties, with cash mostly available in 2020: a 152 square meter apartment in a luxury urbanization in Madrid, near the Atocha station, with an estimate of around 750,000 euros; three parking spaces and two storage rooms; another apartment in Madrid of 209 square meters valued at almost one million euros: and another house also near Atocha, with a garage space and a storage room. This report calculates a real estate heritage of around 1.8 million euros.
For his part, Alejandro Hernández Hernández would buy different properties between 2019 and 2021: a house of 190 square meters with parking and storage in Las Rozas (Madrid); another house in Arrecife (Las Palmas) with garage and storage; another in Yaiza (Lanzarote), near Timanfaya National Park; and a little over a year ago a garage space in Las Rozas. A total of one million euros in real estate assets, according to the aforementioned report.
Finally, the head referee of the Cup final, José María Sánchez Martínez, would get a house in Murcia of 164 square meters, with three parking spaces and a storage room.
Based on this report, Anticorruption would now analyze whether to include him in the Negreira case, where a possible crime of sports corruption in Barcelona is being investigated, after they established payments from this club to the former vice president of referees.
