Deontay Wilder spent several hours in police custody.

Deontay Wilder, 37, was driving his car in Los Angeles on Tuesday night when he was stopped by police. According to the American portal TMZ.com, she checks the former world heavyweight champion (WBC) because the windows are illegally tinted and the license plate is covered.

During the check, the officers smoked weed, so they searched the car. Not only do they find grass, but also a hidden gun. They arrest Wilder.

As TMZ reports, the boxer is said to have been “cooperative and nice” throughout. After a few hours he was released on bail of about CHF 31,000.

Soon after, he spoke out on Twitter. “I prefer to play it safe. The end,” writes Wilder. Insight sounds different. (bir)
