Gjergjaj defends his belt – and hopes to fight for the world championship

class=”sc-3778e872-0 cKDKQr”>

Arnold Gjergjaj will fight his 39th professional fight on June 24 in Basel.

Arnold “The Cobra” Gjergjaj (38) is already back in the ring: the Basel-based boxing professional will defend his WBF Intercontinental heavyweight title on June 24, which he won against German Dominic Vial (KO in the 2nd round) in March.

Now Gjergjaj’s 39th professional fight (35 wins, 3 losses) at the Airport-Hotel Basel is about to defend his title for the first time. The opponent: Kristaps Zutis (32) from Latvia. One that the Pratteler would normally have to overcome.

If Gjergjaj succeeds in his third fight in eight months, the road to the next bigger fight could be open for him: he will be eligible for the world title of the WBF, a smaller association. (e.g.)
