Glarner and Moeller let their muscles play

It’s a clash of giants. When wrestling king Matthias Glarner (37) and German actor Ralf Moeller (64) let their muscles play, many fitness freaks can pack their bags. This is exactly what happened last week in Cologne at Fibo, the world’s largest trade fair for fitness and health. There, both act as brand ambassadors for a fitness system and compete against each other in the performance test. So much can already be revealed: Glarner has to work very hard to keep up with the Hollywood-hardened Westfalen.

The Bernese Oberlander brings a lot of respect to the former German bodybuilder. Unforgettable is his role in the Hollywood blockbuster ‘Gladiator’, in which Moeller fights for his life in Roman arenas together with Oscar winner Russell Crowe (59). “The film accompanied me through my childhood. I still enjoy watching it to this day.”

The gladiator impresses

The actor has apparently lost little of his physical fitness since filming “Gladiator” in 2000. When it comes to pumping, Glarner’s wrestling king really breaks a sweat. The sports entrepreneur tells Blick: “It’s impressive how fit Moeller is at 60 years old.” And who achieved the best result in the performance test? “I would say it was a draw,” reveals 116-time crown winner Glarner with a smile.

Like a gladiator, Glarner also knows how to shine in a large arena. He proved this with his victory at the Federal 2016 in Estavayer-le-Lac. On the other hand, he likes to leave the performance in a gladiatorial arena to his fitness colleague Moeller: “If we were to meet like gladiators, my strategy would be very clear: grab your feet and run!”
