In a thrilling opening game, the Swiss U18 national team lost 4-2 to Finland at the home World Cup in Basel. After a balanced first third, the Scandinavians take a 2-0 lead in the second half with a double blow. However, Leo Braillard and Matteo Wagner equalized for Switzerland before the second half-time break. The decision in favor of the Finns is made by Kasper Halttunen in the middle of the last third. Shortly before the end of the game, the Finns hit the empty Swiss goal.
