Rachel Rinast no longer plays for the Swiss national women’s team. The 31-year-old defender decides to withdraw from the team of coach Inka Grings.
Rinast, who grew up in Schleswig-Holstein, shared this herself in a video on Thursday afternoon and on the social media channels of the women’s team. “I feel like I can’t give the team as much as it deserves at the moment.”
Plus, she almost enjoys watching the young up and coming players play. She wishes the team all the best for the World Cup next summer. With the words “That’s how Eminem did it,” she ends the video and drops the mic like the cult rapper.
Rinast won 48 caps since her debut in March eight years ago. In 2015 she participated in the World Cup, in 2017 and in 2022 in the European Championship. She is currently under contract with the Grasshoppers. (SDA/bjl)
