Wawrinka misses top duel with Djokovic

class=”sc-3778e872-0 cKDKQr”>

Stan Wawrinka is out in Bosnia.

Stan Wawrinka (ATP 84) missed the expected round of 16 match against world number one Novak Djokovic at the ATP 250 tournament in Banja Luka. The 38-year-old loses in the first round to Luca van Assche 6: 1, 6: 7 (4: 7), 4: 6.

Things have been looking good for Wawrinka for quite some time now. The Swiss leads 3-1 in the third set, until then he had never given up his service. But suddenly Stan breaks into the 20-year-old Frenchman’s house.

Due to the bankruptcy, de Vauder misses the duel with Djokovic. The world number 1 is the figurehead of the newly established clay tournament in the Serbian part of Bosnia and benefited from a bye in the first round. The number 2 seed is Russian Andrei Rublev, winner of the tournament in Monte Carlo. (par/SDA)
