Lara Stalder (left), who has been involved in all five Swiss goals, is happy with Lara Christen for their 1-1 equalizer in the first third.

After the 4:3 in the group stage, the Swiss also defeated the Japanese in a knockout duel. As with the first encounter, they can react to a false start in the first third.

The Swiss laid the foundation for reaching the semi-finals with a lightning start in the middle third, when they scored from 2-1 to 4-1 within just under six minutes. With five scorer points (1 goal), captain Lara Stalder is the star in the Swiss team.

In the semi-final on Saturday evening (10 p.m.), Switzerland will face defending champion and host country Canada. The US and the Czech Republic compete for the second final ticket. (SDA/dti)
