1/11
Cedric Itten is one of the most successful goalscorers in Europe with his eleven goals in 2023.

No one in Switzerland currently scores as diligently as Cedric Itten (26). In 2023, he celebrated his own goal eleven times in all competitions. He is also one of the top scorers in Europe. It contains an evaluation of the fifteen best competitions with the corresponding national and UEFA competitions. The YB striker pushes through to tenth place.

The ranking is led by Marcus Rashford (25, Manchester United) and Karim Benzema (35, Real Madrid). Both have 16 hits on the bill. Their first pursuers are Enner Valencia (33, Fenerbahce), Victor Osimhen (24, Napoli) and Erling Haaland (22, Manchester City). All three have 15 goals this year. What is striking: the Norwegian scored eleven in three games.

Itten still on stage

Hot on the heels of the top five is Joao Mario (30, Benfica), a midfielder. The Portuguese scored 13 goals. The remaining places are occupied by Wissam Ben Yedder (32, Monaco), Thijs Dallinga (22, Toulouse) and Jonathan David (23, Lille) with 12 goals each, before Itten completes the top ten thanks to his excellent goal quota.

Itten needs just 62 minutes to score a goal. He is third in this category. Only Marko Rakonjac (56 minutes) and Vaclav Jurecka (60 minutes) from Red Star Belgrade need less time to score.

Lonely peak in Turkey

Of the aforementioned strikers, ex-Premier League star Valencia comes closest to Itten in terms of scoring. He has used 71 minutes per goal so far. The Ecuadorian is experiencing a second spring anyway. In total, he scored 30 times this season. He scored 26 of those in the Turkish Süper Lig. The title of top scorer can hardly be taken away from him. Mbaye Diagne is Turkey’s second best goalscorer with ten goals less.

In Switzerland, on the other hand, the race is still completely open. Itten leads the scoresheet along with YB teammate Jean-Pierre Nsame (14) just ahead of Lugano striker Zan Celar (13).
