In a meager Rheinderby (0:0) against Cologne, Jonas Omlin is the glimmer of hope on the side of Borussia Mönchengladbach. The goalkeeper of the Swiss national team scored several times for the “foals” with strong parades. After the game, the 29-year-old is celebrated by his coach and colleagues.
“We are very happy with Jonas,” said Gladbach coach Daniel Farke in recognition of his keeper’s performance in relation to “Bild”. “Before the game, there were statistics that he was ranked 18th among Bundesliga goalkeepers with only 54 percent of balls saved. Omlin has struggled since moving from Montpellier to the Bundesliga in January. Against Cologne he did not concede a goal for the second time. The keeper now wants to build on this achievement. “I’m glad I can take that to zero personally, I haven’t been able to hold that many lately.
